FIFA decided that the best player of the 2010 year will be Leo Messi. As well as Messi nominated were Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
It is quite difficult to understand FIFA's decision because in the past year Messi wasn't actually the best one. Other players, like for example Gerard Pique, are very disappointed. Defender of Barcelona and champion of world from 2010 year, has written on Twitter "if now none of us got the golden ball, then when will be a better moment?"
Not only the football world is surprised by this choice. Even Joe Luis Zapatero, the prime minister of Spain said that he hoped for Xavi to be the one for 2010.
